Daily Vocab – Unit 10 – Terms to know in preparation for writing the Literary Analysis:
Literary Analysis – breaking up a total work into separate elements or pieces in order to discover the craftsmanship and artistry of its author. In this way one comes, hopefully, to a deeper appreciation—understanding—of the work.
Juxtaposition an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, especially for comparison/contrast or analysis
Paradox – statement or situation that seems to be a contradiction but actually reveals a truth – designed to make readers stop and think.
